Visualizing Sound

This project studies the concept of Synesthesia, in which the stimulation of a sense can activate other senses. In this case, sound evokes an experience of color and the use of shapes narrates the speed of the melody. The song used is “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd. The cool colors embody the melancholic feel of the song. The lines and dots outside of the sphere symbolize the vibration (line) and pause (dot) of the guitar in the introduction of the song and its repetition, while the song continues until its climax in the very center of the sphere. Both compositions include the same elements with different arrangements. The cosmos ambiance of the series is a tribute to one of the band’s bestseller albums: The Dark Side of the Moon.
